White House to Host Halloween Event for Students and Neighborhood Families

“Hallo-READ!” event will send kids home with books and candy.

The White House is hosting local students and neighborhood families to attend the 2024 “Hallo-READ!” reading event for children on Wednesday. Organized by First Lady Jill Biden, this year’s theme will “highlight the spooktacular thrill of reading,” offering a number of showcases and interactive events to its young attendees.

“Children will trick-or-treat along the South Lawn of the White House up to the South Portico to receive candy and books from White House friends and neighbors,” the White House said. “Lawn games and a spooky story time corner will also be a part of the Halloween festivities again this year, featuring special guests reading their favorite books of the season to children.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and first lady as they host the reading event for students at the White House.
  • For the president, vice president, and administration officials as they pursue their education agenda.
  • For the first lady as she advocates for reading and learning.
